Thank you, Blair! I am so pleased we have The Canine Coach as a partner with Pet Haven! You always provide such wonderful advice and training for us and our adoptive (or potential adoptive!) families. Again, I really appreciate it!
Karen Scott, President, Pet Haven of Minnesota
I am so impressed!
I am still speechless about how well Kanga did yesterday. Thank you so much for going above and beyond and teaching me some techniques for Kanga and I to work on together. It really gave me a lot of hope. I knew Kanga was a great pup, I just didn't know how to bring it out!
Blair, see you next Wednesday.
I took Blair's dog-human aggression class with my dog Butch, and learned a lot about how to handle him in a variety of situations. More than that, I learned what cues to look and listen for that my dog might be uncomfortable, and how to redirect him (or another human!) so that I don't put him in a bad situation. I learned that it's my responsibility; as much a part of taking care of him as feeding him. Butch loved the class and our 'homework,' because it involved treats! He insists we keep in training!
Thank you so much for all you do! I cannot believe what he learned in just the one class, and am very excited to keep practicing the skills.
With the exception of the first week or two after we adopted him, when I'm guessing he was just a bit reserved and nervous, I have never seen him calm in the presence of other dogs as he was when we were walking him around the therapy dog class. Absolutely incredible.
I just wanted to tell you how happy we were with our first session. Blair was so helpful and Gio really responded to her. He seems more confident and I can't wait to go home after work and do some training with him. He likes to learn! We are so excited to have a plan and for our next session.
Thanks so much!!!
Just wanted to write you a quick note about Ella. She had her second class today and she did fantastic! She was calmer and was able to focus longer. Danielle had Ella chewing on a bone when she was explaining something at length and that helped keep her anxiety down and occupied. We were very proud of her! When I brought her to her first aggression class last winter I never thought that we would ever be where we are now. Thank you so much for all the help and encouragement that you have given us! We truly appreciate it!
Since our dogs are our children, here is a pic of Ella on her first day of school last week.
Thank you so much for everything that you taught us last night. We are all very excited to get started. I have my first "guest" set for Saturday. The kids are super excited about their door bell training task. I love that you gave them their own special thing to work on.
We look forward to working with you again in a few weeks on outdoor behavior.
Blair, I just wanted to send you these pictures of Gemma and her new friend Oke. They originally met back in March when Gemma had started the aggressive dog class with you and the meeting was not the greatest. But look at them now! Thank you so much for for being the awesome trainer you are, we will definitely be taking some more classes there!
As Nylah and I were walking back to the car after a dog park visit this morning, I found myself with a huge smile on my face and thought I should let you know ;)
I'm so happy I took the step to learn how to work with Nylah on the leash aggression. It's honestly been the most important thing we've done for her (us). Since our class last week Nylah and I have had a few good challenges on our walks and we both handled them really, really well. I'm actually seeking out dogs to pass on our walks now! This morning my partner and I took her to the dog park (which hasn't ever been a problem in the past, just the major excitement and lack of control getting to the gate!). I opened the back of the car and didn't even have to give Nylah a command to stay. She was excited when we started walking towards the gate, but was easily reminded that we were "walking". Her encounters with other dogs were great. She swam and ran... it was wonderful.
So- just wanted to send a note of thanks. You gave me the tools to feel confident with Nylah and it's done wonders for both of us. I'm looking forward to having her be out and about with us more and more. Thank you.
Maybe we'll see you again in a class that's a little more "fun" ;)
Enjoy your summer!
I really want to thank you for the help you have given to us with Kody. Using your techniques have been so helpful for us. It is an ongoing work in process, but Kody has responded well. Our calmness with him really works for all of us. We have been trying to walk him whenever possible which also helps him a lot.
Want to thank you again for helping us. Kody is a very sweet little guy.
So proud of my girl. From her very first class cowering under the chair refusing to move, Rhaenys was curious and loved her advanced obedience at Ace Hardware. I never thought she would have this much confidence and I owe it all to the Canine Coach! A year and a half of nonstop training with them has turned my abused farm dog into a confident dog. She might still have a little to go but she's come so far! Jess Kittredge and Blair thanks for all you do!!
We recently had an In-Home Training Session with Coach Blair. We were super happy with how the session turned out. She gave us great advice and training tips for the future!
The vet visit today went great! I cannot believe it! Ace behaved himself REALLY WELL around a big chow/lab mix and a setter of some sort in the waiting room. No whining or pulling at the leash in attack mode. He was a little nervous, but sat on the bench and got treats. Thank you SO MUCH for all you have done. I felt completely helpless and hopeless and now I can just enjoy the dog and work on his other behavior issues.
Thanks again! I can't say enough about what a good job you do.
Just want to drop a note of thanks for Blair and Jake’s recent dog to dog aggression class in St. Paul. I found the training (of me!) very helpful, and I can see the beginning of good results with my wire fox terrier, Cleo. She will continue to offer many challenges, but I feel I have some good skills now to manage her better, especially on-leash when walking in public areas.
You guys were great, thanks for having us in the class, helping us both learn some things, and keeping everyone feeling safe through it all. No mean feat, and I will certainly recommend Canine Coach to my friends.
All the best,
Joe W and Cleo
I recommend Canine Coach to everyone. Dexter was a different dog after coming to your classes. He doesn’t bark at people and allows them to pet him. He probably only submissive pees every other week and mostly because he is excited verses anxious. We really can’t say enough good things about your classes. Thanks again!
My husband and I have been using Canine Coach for over two years now. Blair has been our trainer and she has been wonderful. She was wonderful to work with. It was so nice and convenient that she came to our house for the sessions .Our dogs loved her. We had two dogs a Pit Bull and German Shepard/Husky mix (our pit bull passed away.) Blair worked with both our dogs. Thanks to Blair we saw huge changes in both our dogs. Not only in the way they behaved and there demeanor but how they responded to us and how much better they listened. We have a 20 month old daughter I was worried about having 2 big dogs. Blair taught us and our dogs things to help with this area. The exercises that she taught us to do with our dogs were so helpful and we still use them to this day, We want to thank you for having such a wonderful trainer.
Stephanie & Jason S
Mia is so changed from just ONE session with you!! Thank you, you are magic.
I wanted to take a minute to write and tell you that Betty has REALLY turned a corner on her "stranger danger." I just wanted to thank you for helping us go from "Ahhhhhh, can we ever have people over????" to "Hey, let's have people over AGAIN!" Thank you for helping us understand our dog's issues better and for teaching us the skills and tips to help her more consistently be the awesome, sweet dog that she is!
I can't tell you how happy I have been with the classes I have taken with you guys. My relationship with my dog is so amazing and it is because I leaned to understand her from amazing trainers.
I tell people all the time to take classes with you guys.
I'm looking forward to this last class!
Opie is enjoying his new baby brother. Thank you so much for all of your help!! We were at a breaking point of finding a new home for Opie but now I couldn’t imagine our family without him and you have helped us learn how to work with him and how to handle real life situations. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from you!
Just wanted to say thank you so much for the Dog to Human class that just ended last night. My partner and I have gotten a LOT out of it, and our daughter, Joanna, had such a great experience working with two different dogs last night! She chattered about it all the way home! Thanks for being so kid-inclusive.
We are signing up for the basic obedience course next, then hopefully on to disc dog or something super fun like that! Thanks for such a great experience!
[Level II Obedience] was great. The instructor, Blair, was a wonderful teacher. Her directions were easy to follow and her love of dogs was very obvious.
My dog wasn't the only one who learned a lot, I learned a great deal myself and I had done this before years ago by another group!
Thank you so much for all of the training. Jetta, Sean, and I can't wait to get her into the Tricks class and into Agility classes, as our schedules permit. We couldn't be happier that we found The Canine Coach, and we heartily recommend you to everyone we can!
Kelly, Sean, and Jetta B.
I just wanted to touch base with you & let you know that Gracie has been doing a terrific job with the collar/leash adjustments we made. She’s so easy to walk now, & truly minds her own business when it comes to other dogs or people. In fact, we’ve gotten lots of compliments from neighbors & passersby as to what a well-behaved dog she is!
Anyway, thanks again. Hope things are going well for you!
She is FANTASTIC! Miracle worker.
Thanks again for the awesome private lessons with June! She is doing so much better, she's paying attention and listening to us more than she ever did. The dog park training is going well!
The training was very helpful. I was actually at Petsmart yesterday buying crickets and I had Gussy with me. There was an adoption event and an obedience training in progress. Gus was a model citizen and I put him in a down stay. The instructor for Petsmart came over and complimented me on my well behaved dog. I had Gus do a Sit from Down and he hopped right up. She was impressed. I told her he was trained at Canine Coach and she said. “Yes. They are like the top rated training school in Minnesota.” Props from the competition. Regards to the team that you have there. Good, confident people. Blair and Pauli were fantastic.
Thank you for working with Stella and I -- we really enjoyed your class. Please let us know if there will be any additional opportunities to practice our skills coming up. We always love attending new classes / events offered through Canine Coach :)
We have taken the Dog to Human socialization class [with Blair] and I am so pleased with the result. This is another key to having better behavior.
You're a super trainer who has given us lots of great tools to help us improve Meg's dog aggression and we are thankful for your efforts. I would highly recommend your class and your expertise to friends with similar dog behavior issues.
Thanks for for patience with me.
Thanks again for the great workout, Blair! Cooper & I both had fun and feel a lil more fit :).
[Fitness With Your Dog class]
Over the years, my Lola has become fear reactive to other dogs, which became a huge problem on our walks through the neighborhood. I cannot even think about how much $ and time spent with trainers who did not recognize the fear in her, that used such negative responses to her that I actually had to ask one trainer to leave my house and never come back.
Then I met Blair, from Canine Coach. WOW. She listened to me, she watched Lola and I, and within the 2nd visit, Lola was back to doing her fancy heel walk by my side! I can't believe how such common sense, positive body movements that I learned to do from Blair, made all the difference to Lola! We have so much fun again on our walks! No longer am I constantly in fear that Lola will react.
We now have a proactive system to our walk and I put Lola at ease before a fearful situation could occur. AMAZING!
Also, Blair and her team at Canine Coach approved a Dog Walking class for my team at Urban Tails Waggin'. We had close to 3 hours with Blair to learn anything and everything to help us be better at the service of dog walking that we provide to our clients. My whole team raved at the positive tips they received and within a week, their own dogs and the client's dogs they were walking were learning to walk in perfect heels by their side!
I recommend Blair and Canine Coach to all of my clients and friends. I am so thankful for what I have learned from them! My Lolabear is too!!!
Rebecca L. - Urban Tails Waggin'
I have to say that all of the techniques you gave us worked really well with Pepper and she has been really good all week long. Just wanted to say thanks again, you really made a difference.
I can't believe I already have good news for you! After class I had a baby shower to go to and brought banks with, the intention of stopping in quick and leaving banks in the car however I should have known that he would of course be invited in! They normally have a very sweet pit bull but he was gone for the day so banks came to the party...then the pit bull came home!! And I got very nervous but tried to keep calm introducing them letting them sniff and praising banks for saying hi etc. then I decided I was feeling confident and felt comfortable with their dog so I took them in the backyard and they had a GREAT time playing!! I'm such a proud momma! Thank you for all the help building the skills and confidence to deal with doggy situations, I will recommend you to everyone!!!
Thank you for a terrific class! Max has learned so much (and so have we). Now we just have to practice, practice, practice.
We'll check our calendar and see if we can schedule a home visit or two with you.
Thanks again for all your knowledge and support.
Roberta and Barry S.
Thanks for the wonderful experiences we have had thus far with Pauli and Blair.
I wanted to start off by thanking you for coming into my home and providing me with training skills and confidence. Verde and I went on vacation to Texas last fall to visit my ex and his family and things went outstanding. He was great with everyone.
Thank you, and I hope I can get some training scheduled with you in the near future.
My 8 month old Rottweiler Monroe has been in 4 training classes with you guys since she was 12 weeks. For 3 of those 4 classes, Blair was her trainer. Also, Blair has been to our house for an in-home training session for Monroe's Resource Guarding issue.
I just want to give kudos and show our thanks and gratitude towards Blair for all of the help we have had with Monroe. Before Blair came over to help with the Resource Guarding issue we could not even go near Monroe when she had a bone or even the TV remote without a growl or even a nip towards us. Now we are able to grab bones from her while she has them and hold them while she chews them. Also, we can grab food from her food dish while she is eating and feed it to her by hand. This is all thanks to Blair's guidance and training abilities. We really appreciate all she has done for us and our dog.
All of Blair's training has been so helpful, and Monroe really loves her for it!!!
Jessica G. & Bruce W. and of course Monroe!
I can't tell you how much I appreciate your flexibility and accommodations for Elo! It's so much easier to work consistently on his issues when we can be in class.
Looking forward to our next session!
Thanks so much for such a great experience today! Drake and Wolfie are tuckered out. You rock!
I just wanted to give you an update on our success story. Thank you for all the good tips - we followed exactly what you recommended and look at the two now!! Mina has been with us for 10 days now while my in-laws are on vacation and while they aren't friends (yet...) they can be in the same room together no problem. Once in a while Riley gets frustrated and growls her into the corner but no biting. Yesterday they even played tug for a couple of minutes.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! :-)
The vet actually told me that Macy seemed like a whole new dog and that she was very impressed in the progress that she has made!
Thank you for all you have done. I am going to keep Macy enrolled in classes going forward just because I think she is benefitting from the routine and also from being exposed to new dogs/people regularly. Even by having her in the dog to human socialization class, I feel like her obedience has improved (in addition to her social skills).
I just wanted to thank you for the great classes Cam and I have had with you--you're a terrific trainer and a delight to be around! Good luck with that puppy and maybe we'll see you sometime in the future at another class. Thanks again!
I wanted you to know how great I thought the Puppy class was! You've offered us so many great ideas for teething and training. You seem to really know your stuff, and are definitely a great puppy teacher!!
Thanks so much,
We had a home visit with Blair last night. She was amazing! I cannot believe what she taught us in such a short time. We were at the point of deciding which dog had to find a new home because of aggression.
I feel confident that we can apply what Blair taught us and by her next visit, be ready for more! Thank you for helping us turn things around.
I just wanted to drop you a quick note to thank you for the excellent course [Dog to Dog Socialization for Aggressive Dogs] earlier this winter that Mac and I attended. He has been a perfect gentleman ever since and we have not had any issues with fighting at the dog park at all.
I am so proud of him and am really enjoying taking him out again. Thank you so much :)
Good news! We found out a few days ago that Bud's restrictions have been lifted! We couldn't be happier to start the new year out on a very positive note for Bud.
Thanks again for your tips, input and letter. You were a big part of making this happen for all of us. I cannot say enough wonderful things about you as a trainer and the Canine Coach.
We have been working with Bud on his leash pulling and we CANNOT believe the improvement. Ben and I walk in silence because we are in shock/awe of the transformation in such a short time!
We are so happy with the results that we keep saying we cannot believe we didn't think to have you come help us sooner...nonetheless, we are so happy to have found something that works & takes the guess work out of our biggest frustration.
I walked Jesse at Como this morning, and he did so well! Your training has given me so much confidence and more importantly: HOPE. I feel like the second time, it finally sunk in. THANK YOU!!
Also, I just signed us up for a Dog-to-Dog class! Was really hoping to see your name on the schedule of upcoming sessions, but didn't. Bummer. :(
Thanks again for being so good at what you do!!!
I would just like to thank you again for meeting us yesterday and working with Elvis on his socialization issues. Adam and I are both still in a bit of shock at just how well Elvis did around a new (and very energetic) dog.
Thank you again for all your work. Knowing that this issue is fixable and that there is hope for us to foster again is a huge relief!
Thank you so much for coming over and giving your expert advice for Ajax. I took him in the backyard and he was walking next to me within one minute. Seriously cool. And he is so happy with the attention.
Looking forward to the next couple of training weeks and having you back to show off!
Joe and Ajax
I had to tell you about my walk with Sully this morning. A brief background ... I've always been really anxious while walking him, constantly worrying about things that would set him off, and pretty much continuously nervous. In short, I hated walking him. This morning we set out, but with the mindset that I was going to identify situations and approach them with a plan.
Sure enough, our first obstacle appeared: Woman on a phone, dog on a retractable leash running circles around her. But this time, no panic attack. I crossed the street, put Sully on the outside, gave him a couple treats as we passed, and that was it! It was so cool!
Anyway, I think I've always had this dream that Sully would be the "perfect" dog. You've done a really excellent job of teaching me that he'll always be himself, and his "perfectness" will come in the form of my relationship with him, and how we handle things together. I just really appreciate the hell out of that. So does he. So, thank you so much for giving me some much needed perspective.
See you next week.
Charlie and Sully
We are so grateful to have been referred to you by Katie at Secondhand Hounds. Our confidence and level of understanding Howie is forever changed, thanks to you. The lessons we have learned - we have taught the girls - and we have kept the boundaries, with regard to Howie's constant "testing"! Walking him is no longer frightening - our comfort & confidence definitely affects him positively. He listens to us and is not the ticking time bomb he was when we adopted him December 13th, 2015.
Again, thanks so much for a super fun Agility class. As was perfectly obvious, Cubbie loved it! Me too.
Stella is doing AMAZINGLY good, Lilou can squeeze her toys right in front of Stella's face all day long and Stella won't even move. ;-) Thanks to both of you for all the work we have done.
Stella loves Lilou and Lilou loves watching Stella, she makes her giggle all the time, they will be best buddies, that's for sure ;-)
Blair thank you for your work, it gave us hope.
Emily and Ben
[Stella stole anything and EVERYTHING off floors, tables, counters and thought it was fun!]
Blair, so far so good! I walked Ace this a.m. We encountered two squirrels and I was able to control him by stepping in front of him. He even got calm and I did the pressure touches. It was great. He walked very nicely. At this very minute I have the bedroom door wide open and he is just laying down in the kitchen. We have done this twice today. It's some kind of miracle.
I enjoyed my class with Blair! Blair has an outgoing, very engaging personaility. She took the time to get to know me and my foster dog. She also took the time with each student to make sure we understood the concepts, and was willing to take the time to watch and give feedback.
Just wanted to thank you for the help with Olive - puppy classes rock. Just signed up for Obedience on Mondays - can't wait.
Happy summer and thanks so much!
First of all Koby has been
amazing since you came last week! She is responding to the training
and has been very successful. Overall we have seen a change in her
level of happiness. She seems more content, eager to please/listen to
us, and just more happy! She has been responding when we say "come"
in any environment!
With the tricks for when we leave...AMAZING! She seems much more
relaxed whenever we leave. She was left in the house and I forgot
something, came back in the house and she had her kong on the couch,
eyes looked at me, she didn't move and didn't become upset when we
left, and she did not bark or stare at the window!
You are truly amazing and we thank you so much for all that you have
done to help us with our girl! She also says thank you :)
We will be in touch in regards to more training sessions.
Lindsay, Nate and Koby
Thank you so much for your time and patience with Carbon! You have been amazing!!
I love the class and your teaching style, thanks for making this so much fun! The other obedience class we took only covered yanking on a prong collar to get the dog to heel and to come (why a dog would come to get hurt is beyond me which is why we are seeing you!).
The last two days have been fantastic walking with Paisley! She has only barked at other dogs twice, and when she did she calmed down immediately using the techniques you taught.
Thanks for all your help, you are the first trainer we have worked with that seemed to really care and solve the problems Paisley was having.
Almost two months ago our dog Shylo (Husky/Shepherd mix) got into some trouble and was deemed dangerous. We also have a Pitbull who has some issues but has never gotten in trouble with Animal Control. I wanted to let you know that thanks to Blair, our dogs have made a huge change for the better.
We can actually cook in the kitchen now without them smelling the counters or being under our feet because Blair taught us the "back technique." Blair came yesterday
and taught us how to walk them. Up until then I felt it was hopeless because all Rosie (our Pitbull) would do is pull me. Not fun for either of us. I now see hope that after some hard work I will be able to enjoy taking her for a walk for the very first time.
Thank you for having such good trainers.
Stephanie and Jason S.
I know that my dog’s success will be in large part because of your class. Thanks again for the really helpful Puppy class.
I meant to email you last week and thank you for your help. It was above and beyond because we aren’t currently in a course. We’ll probably sign Dexter up for Obedience 2 this summer sometime.
These classes truly have made a huge difference. Dexter is like a completely different dog!
This is Brian, owner of "Klaus", the German Shorthair whom you recently trained in puppy class. I was trying to squeeze into your
Obedience Level 1 class starting Sunday Feb. 26th, but I see the registration has it listed as full. I would love to have the opportunity in Klaus being under your training for this class. Please let me know if there happens to be another opening for him to join you. You are such a great trainer, and the Puppy class you put on was so enjoyable to us.
I know you're pretty busy, but I just wanted to share with you that Lily was a very good girl this evening, and had several human encounters that would normally have her in "killer dog" mode, and she didn't make a sound! We met a man coming around a corner when we didn't expect it, and Lily moved towards him a little, but came right back when I called her, sat, and watched him walk past us in a much more relaxed way than I have ever seen her do before. A little further into our walk as we were practicing our controlled walking, a biker went whizzing past us. Lily started to react, hesitated, looked at me, looked at the biker, then just kept moving forward with me. It was wonderful! It made me so proud and happy for her and us, and gave me hope for her future. We're looking forward to seeing you in class on Saturday!
Things have been going SO much better between Sadie and JD. We have
been working with Sadie on boundary training and using the techniques
that you taught us, and she has gotten much more comfortable with JD.
She is able to relax with him being out and moving around and has
hasn't been bullying him at all. We have actually only had one growl
since you left last week! We now have her off leash in the house,
although we still have fairly strict control over her. JD has been
responding really well too. He is not at all scared of her anymore!
He will freely come into an area where she is and will approach and
sniff her. Sometimes I think he's a little too bold --I think "Don't
press your luck JD!"
Noah and I were actually telling some friends this weekend that we
couldn't believe what a change Sadie has made--we are very proud of
Thanks so much for your help!
I wanted to let you know that all the work we’ve done in obedience made my morning much easier than it could have been.
This morning, I was trying to get out of the house with Jetta and I wasn’t paying attention. A bird flew by the window, and Jetta jumped against the outer door. The door, of course, opened, so she went running outside. I was able to capture her attention at the next door neighbor’s yard, by saying, “Jetta! Come!” and once I could see her just barely start to look at me, I started running the other way, making a lot of goofy noises. She, thankfully, followed me, and I was able to grab her collar and bring her inside. We made it to daycare without incident.
Thanks for all of your great training help!
Blair seems very knowledgeable about dog behavior and with owner and dog interactions. Blair has an upbeat and positive personal manner. Good with one on one attention.
Just wanted to drop you a quick note and thank you for affording Cubbie and I such a wonderful time at Agility 1 and 2.
As I'm sure you could tell, we both loved it. Cubbie just amazed me - I could see the improvement he made week to week. It was marvelous - and due to your good instruction and coaching.
Thank you for your understanding and insights regarding Sebastian during the 9:00 am Saturday morning class. He is responding well. Your suggestion of a more secluded area for him for next class seems right on track.
I value your competency and unique understanding of each dog and the best way to train them.
Just wanted to let you know that despite being stubborn as all get out at times, Lucy is going on long (1-3 mile) walks with me! She's even to the point of walking with a slack leash for a decent amount of the time we're out.
Just thought you'd like to know.
Thanks for all the help,
I wanted to thank you for training me and Billi. I was absolutely amazed with what you were able to do with him. I have been working on this with him, and he seems to be listening quite a bit better. I am sure that is because he will start to look at me more as the leader than he did. I think I learned more in that hour then I had in all the classes I had been to before. I realize you took your time to sit with me and work with us when you did not have to. I hope you know how much I appreciate all you did for us, and taught to me. Hopefully I will be able to work with you in the future.
With only the little bit of training Mia has received, she's doing really well! The day after you came our neighbor was out unloading her groceries, a good time for Mia to make herself known to the world, and she didn't utter a peep! It was really amazing.
